BODYMODE RUNNING CLUB - FINALIST AT THE LIVING SPORT AWARS!
Bodymode Running Club were nominated this year as the Community Club of the Year for the Living Sport Awards. One of 17 clubs nominated for the category, BRC were shortlisted down to 3 finalists and members of the committee attended the ceremony held at the Burgess Hall in St. Ives.
It was a great night to celebrate people in sport and to hear the stories of other coaches and athletes was very inspirational. We see this nomination as a great recongition of the work BRC is doing to promote running in Chatteris.
Several BRC members took part in the marathons during April, a mix of experienced marathon runners and a marathon “newbie”. Preparation is the key to a successful marathon run.
Manchester Marathon – Sunday 7th April 2019
Peterborough Marathon – Sunday, 14th April 2019
Claire stepped in for the Manchester Marathon when a friend was unable to attend. She took this on a week before the Peterborough marathon and completed both, such an amazing effort - very well done!
CHRIS UDEN (BRC Run Leader)
Well done to Chris on his first marathon, after spending many months of training through the bleak winter, he came in with a wonderful time of 5:52. Well done Chris!
Sam completed her second marathon at Manchester in a cracking 4.38.15. For Sam, this is an 18 minute personal best on her London 2016 marathon time. Sam also paced some of the Peterborough Marathon the following week too - Way to go, Sam!
